Junior Infant News
Welcome to the Junior Infant page. We are so excited to finally be in ‘big school’.
Junior Infants can’t decide our favourite thing to do! We adore Building Bridges which is reading story books together. Predicting what will happen in our stories is a very important skill. We are enjoying meeting all the characters in Wonderland and reading about their adventures in English. We have already started to use our Jolly Phonics sounds to create words.
We are learning lots of new Irish sentences too using actions, songs and activities with Bua na Cainte on the interactive whiteboard. Aistear playtime is super. We get to play with jigsaws, pegboards, costumes, small world and our sand pit is always busy too. Maths using concrete materials is excellent and we love to play counting teddy. We are developing great finger strength by practising with scissors and tweezers. We exercise in the hall twice a week using beanbags and balls. We are studying the world around us and all about ourselves too.
We know that trying our best at everything we do is the most important thing and Múinteoir Emer thinks we are super stars! There is so much we love about school no wonder we can’t pick our favourite thing.
Come and visit us again soon!
