Art

Painting, drawing, clay, fabric & fibre, construction and print making are all the strands of the art curriculum that are enjoyed in Our Lady’s Abbey.  We place great emphasis on displaying and responding to our pupils' work and the children take great pleasure in seeing their work displayed  and  also complimenting other classes on their displays.  

Every year, the children make Christmas decorations for the school Christmas tree and look forward to the tradition of decorating the tree with the other classes while singing Christmas carols.  We have had many local artists visit the school and even hosted an art exhibition to rival the National Gallery!!!  

Art provides huge enjoyment for all children and so is integrated as much as possible into most curriculum subjects including SESE, English, Irish, SPHE, Religion and ICT.
